Review: Damaged Like Us by Krista & Becca Ritchie

Damaged Like Us by Krista and Becca RitchieDon’t date your bodyguard.
It was the one rule he had to break.

Maximoff Hale is a force of nature. A ship unwilling to be steered. Headstrong, resilient, and wholly responsible — the twenty-two-year-old alpha billionaire can handle his unconventional life. By noon, lunch can turn into a mob of screaming fans. By two, his face is all over the internet.

Born into one of the most famous families in the country, his celebrity status began at birth.

He is certified American royalty.

When he’s assigned a new 24/7 bodyguard, he comes face-to-face with the worst case scenario: being attached to the tattooed, MMA-trained, Yale graduate who’s known for “going rogue” in the security team — and who fills 1/3 of Maximoff's sexual fantasies.

Twenty-seven-year-old Farrow Keene has one job: protect Maximoff Hale. Flirting, dating, and hot sex falls far, far out of the boundary of his bodyguard duties and into “termination” territory. But when feelings surface, protecting the sexy-as-sin, stubborn celebrity becomes increasingly complicated.

Together, boundaries blur, and being exposed could mean catastrophic consequences for both.

Review: A Love Letter to Whiskey by Kandi Steiner

A Love Letter to Whiskey by Kandi SteinerIt’s crazy how fast the buzz comes back after you’ve been sober for so long.

Whiskey stood there, on my doorstep, just like he had one year before. Except this time, there was no rain, no anger, no wedding invitation — it was just us.

It was just him — the old friend, the easy smile, the twisted solace wrapped in a glittering bottle.

It was just me — the alcoholic, pretending like I didn’t want to taste him, realizing too quickly that months of being clean didn’t make me crave him any less.

But we can’t start here.

No, to tell this story right, we need to go back.

Back to the beginning.

Back to the very first drop.

This is my love letter to Whiskey. I only hope he reads it.

Review: No Prince Charming by Angel Payne & Victoria Blue

No Prince Charming by Angel Payne and Victoria Blue
Once upon a time, there was a girl who dressed up and went to a big party at the palace. When she was there, she met a prince. They danced and fell in love...

Damn good line. Too bad I don’t believe a word of it anymore.

My name is Claire Montgomery, and I’m not a princess. I’m a fighter. I worked hard to earn my place on the emergency image repair team for one of the biggest public relations companies in the country. We’ve been called to the renowned Chicago headquarters of Stone Global Corporation, where it’s our job to clean up a heap of the Stone family’s filthiest laundry. Our success will be the biggest victory of my career. I’m on my game. I’m ready.

Why doesn’t ready include a contingency plan for Killian Stone?

December Book Love

December 23, 2018

Fair warning: this is probably my longest post EVER!! But if you stick with it, you may just find a spectacular read to add to your collection.

I know I've gone into a bit of detail about my obsession with Book Outlet. I'm new to the site, but my one-click finger feels like it's been doing this for a long time. The site is perfect for someone like me who's new to discovering (or rediscovering) their love for things a bit outside the adult romance genre. I've been so stuck in the adult romance field that I haven't given myself the chance to read anything else. I've all but forgotten my deep and passionate love for thrillers and mysteries, and luckily have found a deep longing for YA stories. This site offers it all at incredible prices. However, it isn't the only site benefitting from my aggressive shopping habit. In Canada, I haven't found a lot of options so if any of you know of somewhere else I can shop that isn't going to cost me an arm and a leg, let a bitch know. So anyhoo, Amazon, Book Depository and Indigo have gotten their greedy hands on my wallet as well and I have absolutely NO REGERTS (yes, the misspell was intentional). This month I've bought and received so many books and I haven't read or started 90% of them, but do you think that will stop me from buying more and sharing my haul with you in January? Have you met me?
