ARC Review: Cold Cole Heart by K Webster

November 21, 2018

I once was a hero.
Until she kept me as her captive, tortured me, and killed my brothers.
She bred a monster.
Nothing could stop me from seeking revenge.
But it was over so quickly—her easy death a mercy she didn’t deserve.

For a decade, the burning rage of what she did has transformed into something uncontrollable. Something I want to feed. Something I crave to unleash.

I want to make her pay.
Over and over and over again.

Finding the evil, spoiled women sates my ravenous, vengeful soul.
I hunt. I capture. I destroy.

Slowly. So slowly.
One, two, three, four, five…
And now six.

I’m wicked and sadistic.
I am Cold Cole Heart.
My mission is death and their payment to me has come due.

Number six thinks she is different.
Yet when I look at her, I see them.
She will pay.
They always do.

MY REVIEW

★★★★☆

Cold Cole Heart gave me just the kind of mind freak I was looking for!

This will probably be the shortest review I've ever written for a K Webster book. I intend to be vague because I think this story is best experienced by going in blind. It's that good, it's that real, and I really think you're going to love it.

Cole Heart was a broken man with a broken soul. An American hero, he's still very much fighting the war, even if it's only in his mind. He's obviously got PTSD and it manifests itself in such wondrous ways. Everything was going according to his plan until one woman spoke to each dark crevice of his heart.

He was just enough relatable that I clung to him, desperately hoping he'd be the dark hero in my story.
I'd forgotten my story was full of villains.

Natalie Dusana was a broken girl with a broken soul. After her mother's tragic death, she's jumped from one nightmare to another. Only one monster is far more preferable to the other and she's willing to do whatever it takes to make him keep her. Even if that means allowing the darkness to seep into each crack of her heart.

Join the madness. Leap into the shadows. Revel in the darkness. This story will warp your thoughts and have you questioning just about everything you're reading. It's perverse and sadistic and messed up and delicious and I loved every minute of it!
