After the grim confrontation with Queen Katharine, the rebellion lies in tatters. Jules’s legion curse has been unbound, and it is up to Arsinoe to find a cure, even as the responsibility of stopping the ravaging mist lies heavy on her shoulders, and her shoulders alone. Mirabella has disappeared.
Katharine’s reign remains intact—for now. When Mirabella arrives, seemingly under a banner of truce, Katharine begins to yearn for the closeness that Mirabella and Arsinoe share. But as the two circle each other, the dead queens hiss caution—Mirabella is not to be trusted.

Soooo... you're telling me no one's safe?
I know I wanted certain things to happen. Like, certain deaths and the like. But dyammmmnnnn... I didn't expect this!
Picking up right where we left off, the story is messy. But it's the kind of mess and drama and angst I kind of live for, so I was definitely engaged. When things went left, it made me question everything I thought I knew, but I was here for it. Until I wasn't.
In the end, I was rooting for Arsinoe, my hopes and wishes and prayers went unanswered, and I'm wondering what happened. The light I wanted the sisters to find was found and it was too late to matter. I felt like weeping and I thank the author for making me feel SO FREAKING MUCH with this last book of the series.
