WWW Wednesday - August 26

August 26, 2020

WWW Wednesday is a meme hosted by Sam @ Taking on a World of Words.

The three W’s stand for:

What did you recently finish reading?
What are you currently reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?

I got some great reading in. Four ARCs and two of my own choices made this a great reads week! What I finished:

  1. Dark Fairy Tales - this is an anthology that brought some of the best dark romance writers together to write short stories that connected through the same theme - a party. I enjoyed most of these.
  2. Welcome to the Dark Side by Giana Darling - a delicious age gap/forbidden mc romance. I look forward to continuing this series.
  3. King's Redemption by Grace Risata - I didn't love it, but I liked it well enough. I just couldn't connect to the main characters.
  4. Ancient Enemy by Katie Reus - I'm unfamiliar with this author but if this book is anything to go by, I'm going to be reading a lot of her PNR stuff in the future.
  5. Tempting the Prince by Christi Barth - my first read from this author was a winner! An American and a crown prince fall in love, but can they be together? I really enjoyed finding out.
  6. Don't Hex and Drive by Juliette Cross - I loved the first book, Wolf Gone Wild, and fell in love with the hero. I was told I'd love the hero of this book more and while he didn't push Mateo out of the running, Devraj was still an incredible character and I adored him! Review to come...

What I'm reading right now:

Say It Ain't So by Lani Lynn Vale - love the author and I'll read anything she puts out. This one's about Samuel Adams (such an awesome name) and his love interest has Tourette syndrome (I think). I'm thinking it's the heroine I'm hoping for *fingers crossed*

Burning Ash by N.J. Walters - I fell in love with this author's writing from the first book of this series, Fury Unleashed, and I've vowed to read everything she publishes, including her backlist. When the publisher reached out to offer me an advance copy of this book, I screamed!

What I plan to read next:

King of the Causeway by T.M. Frazier - I've read all of the other books from this series and always wanted to read this novella so it's my very next read for sure.

She's Got the Guns by M.O. Mack - Mimi Jean Pamfiloff writes romance but under this pseudonym, she's trying a new genre and I heard she smashed it. I'm looking forward to this thriller-suspense novel!

The Mane Event by Shelly Laurenston - I've enjoyed this author's work under the name of G.A. Aiken and I figured I would try her other stuff. Wish me luck!

Sweet Temptation by Cora Reilly - this one hits all of the spots. Age gap? Arranged marriage? Mafia romance? I can't wait!

  6. Dark Fairy Tales sounds so good! It sounds like they're all interconnected stories, and I love when authors write anthologies like that :)

    1. It was a great deal of stories that shared a theme. I'm a huge fan of retellings, so this was a perfect match up for me.
