He’s an arrogant complication.

I don’t care if Landon Davis has sold millions of records. I don’t care that his damn crooked grin makes my panties wet.

I can’t want him.

I should be mourning, but I can’t. I just need him gone. Then I can align the chaos floating in my head.

——

She has a f*cking boyfriend.

I’ve seen the picture of them together. But Alex Blakely still wants me. And who am I not to oblige when her body is begging for me?

I need one night to own her body.

I should be focused on getting my career out of the gutter. I’ll take one night first. Then I’ll be gone.

My Review

3.5 stars!

I really enjoyed the premise of the story. Without giving too much away, it's about two wounded characters, each afraid to let go or let the other in. It made for some interesting push and pull interactions.

Alexa has been through a tragic ordeal. Beyond her being involved in an accident and a few other facts, her life is pretty much still a mystery to me. I kept reading to find out more but the author was sneaky so no big reveal yet... oh, except for the cliffy that is.

Landon is a huge pop sensation who seems a tad jaded. Throughout the book I couldn't connect with him. I couldn't get over his negativity and his absurd expectations from women. ALL women want him for his money. Whether they have a boyfriend or husband is immaterial. He won't step on another man's toes. But women are looking to him for a handout or for him to be Captain Save 'em. That's how he's portrayed. So every time he tried to show real emotion, it didn't seem real. Hopefully his personality gets sorted out in the next volume.

XO
