WWW WEDNESDAY - OCTOBER 28

October 28, 2020

WWW Wednesday is a meme hosted by Sam @ Taking on a World of Words.

The three W’s stand for:

What did you recently finish reading?
What are you currently reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?

I've missed out on these posts because my blog was a HUGE mess, but I've finally fixed the problem.

YAY ME!!

What I've Read

Stroke of Midnight by K. Webster - a dark romance retelling of Cinderella. I didn't love it, but I'm looking forward to the next book.
Juniper Unraveling by Keri Lake - an interesting take on the zombie apocalypse. It's a twisted romance that messed me up!
The Mane Event by Shelly Laurenston - a hilarious and sexy PNR duet. I love this author's fantasy work and I'm equally awed by her paranormal stuff. I'll definitely be reading more!
Driven by Rebecca Zanetti - this was the book I was waiting for when I first started reading the Deep Ops series. Angus Force was everything I wanted him to be.

What I'm Reading

Calico Descending by Keri Lake - I was fourteen when I was sold to the men in black uniforms. Too young to understand I served a purpose beyond that of the other girls they’d taken.

For the greater good.

Now, after four years in Calico, I’ve seen more death and suffering than during my days of surviving out in the Deadlands against the threat of Ragers and famine. I didn’t think this world could get any bleaker. Didn’t think it could take any more from me than it already had.

Not until I finally learned my purpose.

That same day, I walked the dark halls in the bowels of this hell, where the suffering is in silence, and ghosts of the dead whisper through the walls. A place where nightmares are real.

A place where I met my Champion—the most revered Alpha in S-Block—locked away in his dark cell.

For the greater good.

He’s their weapon, their only line of defense against the mistakes of the past: the mutations that could wipe out all of what’s left of us.

Me, I’m his whipping girl. His reward for good behavior.
And his punishment for acts of defiance.

What I'll Read Next

I'm still thinking about it. While I hate the heroine of Calico Descending, the plot of the book is so engaging that I can't stop reading. So I might continue the Juniper Unraveling series. Or I might read one of my library books. I'm also expecting some books to come in the mail. Not to mention the books I already got this month. Hmmm... I might have too many options!

  1. Too many options sounds like a good problem to have! I hope you enjoy your books when you get them -- and whichever ones you start with! The Unravelling Series sounds like it's worth going on with, even though you didn't like the heroine of Calico Descending.
