The First 10 Books On My Goodreads TBR

August 25, 2020

Welcome to another TTT, hosted by Jana @ That Artsy Reader Girl! This week's topic: questions you would ask your favorite authors (Living or dead. You can post 10 questions for one author, one question each for 10 different authors, or anything else!). I didn't really like this topic. I know, I'm a spoil sport, but I didn't want to come up with questions. The topic didn't inspire me or my creativity. So I decided to do a list that could actually help me and my reading goals. I took a look at the first books on my TBR and I'm determined to either read at least one of them in the next week OR delete one. Anything to cut down just one of my to-read lists.

1. Rose by Sydney Landon - this is the fourth book in the series and although it's touted as a standalone, I think reading the books before would give you a better reading experience. You get to learn about all of the characters and their quirks before getting into this one. I remember reading the first three books and dying to read this one and I just might have to pick this one up soon.

2. Revived by Samantha Towle - I enjoyed the prior book to this and thought I would want to read more in this world that the author created, but I'm just not all that interested all these years later. I'm thinking it just might be removed.

3. Fighting For Forever by J.B. Salsbury - this is book 6 in series about MMA fighters and their fight against or for love. I really enjoyed the first five books and I was looking forward to this one. I'm definitely going to be reading this one (eventually) especially since I re-read and loved the first book all over again.

4. Hearts in Darkness by Laura Kaye - it's about two strangers being trapped on an elevator and finding love. I think. Regardless, it's free right now on Amazon so I'm one-clicking and getting this off my tbr. I hope I like it :)

5. Never Never by Colleen Hoover & Tarryn Fisher - I've seen a lot of mixed reviews for this one and always wanted to add mine to the mix. These authors have provided me with books I've loved and ones I didn't like so much. I still want to see where this one falls. The entire series is free to read with Kindle Unlimited and since I have KU this month (and for the next few months I think), I'm going to add it to my list.

6. Confess by Colleen Hoover - I've got a lot of her books on my shelves. Again, this book has a lot of mixed reviews. A. Lot. I still want to read it but because it's almost $10 on Amazon, I'll keep checking BookOutlet for a copy.

7. Tribeca by Callie Hart & Lili St. Germain - I freaking loved the first book of this series. There's something magical when two amazing authors come together and blend their much-loved series and characters. I'm would love to read this but it exists NOWHERE! My heart is broken :(

8. Bound to You: Volume 4 by Vanessa Booke - I remember reading and enjoying this series years ago and wanted to continue reading and loving it. I always meant to read this and now I know I'm going to have to re-read these books from the beginning. Luckily they're all in KU!

9. Hearts of Blue by L.H. Cosway - I honestly thought I'd already read this one. So I'm definitely going to read this and hopefully love it as much as the previous books in this series of standalones. I'm loving that it's in KU right now!

10. It's a Wonderful Tangled Christmas Carol by Emma Chase - Loved loved loved loved loved this freaking series! Drew was the first hero POV I fell in love with when I started reading romance again. He was dreamy! I'll definitely be giving this book a read.

What books would you keep? If you've got a TTT, leave a link to it below so I can check out your post too!
Happy Reading xo

  4. Good luck with the challenge! It definitely helps to put some pressure sometimes haha. I actually made a list of 10 books I have to read before the end of the year or unhaul. So far I've read two :p Which is probably more than I would have otherwise.

    1. Thanks Nikki! I figured if I don't do something, where will it end because it's not like I'm going to stop adding books, right? You should feel amazing for getting through those two books. I know I would, so congrats! 🎉

  5. That first Never Never book was so good and left me hanging with the cliffhanger. I liked the second one, too. The third one was the one that I think most people have mixed feelings about. Totally worth reading the series. I was also a fan of Confess. I loved the anonymous real life confessions and the art in it. I think I got my copy at Barnes & Noble in the discount section for like $5, but that's been a couple of years ago.

    1. I love books that get mixed reviews. Makes them more enticing 🤭 I'm definitely going to bargain shop for my copy of Confess cuz this girl does not pay $10 for an ebook.

  7. Which one appeals to you the most? I'd read a little out of each. If it still doesn't appeal to you, I'd cut it from my list.

  10. Ooh this is a great way to do it! I thought this was a tough topic too, I almost skipped it. I hope that the ones you try work for you. :)

  11. Honestly, I feel like this is going to be a hard decision -- Hearts in Darkness has me curious -- it's got to be tightly focused on two characters in an elevator falling in love, in the elevator, I'm guessing.
