For a Good Time, Call... by Jessica Gadziala

That's what kissing Hunter felt like: freedom, after a life of being imprisoned.

For a Good Time Call by Jessica Gadziala
Hunter is on the run from a past he wants nothing more than to forget about. He settles into his new life in a new city with a sexy new neighbor who goes out drinking every night and seems to have a lot of kinky, fantastic sex every day.

Fiona has more than a few scars from her past, nightmares so bad she cant be in her own apartment at night. She spends her days moaning like a porn star to her phone sex callers and putting up walls so thick no one can break them down.

That is until she keeps getting woken up from the hot new guy next door and goes over to confront him, sending them both into uncharted territory.

When their pasts come charging into their present, will they be able to heal the old wounds enough to let each other in? Or is there some damage that is simply too difficult to overcome?

-- My Two Cents --

Two people who ran away. Two people who found a new life in the big city. Two people who weren't willing to let down their walls until those walls came crumbling down. Hunter left his family and business behind, determined to strike out on his own and make a new way. Fiona had run away from an abusive background, determined to figure out who she was and where she fit. She was constantly terrified and tended to bury herself in her vices.,.

Until Hunter came smashing through and persisted to show her that she didn't have to be alone.

"I love you, Fee," he said simply. "I think I loved you the morning you stormed in and stole all my hammers. I think I have only loved you more each day since then."

As much as I enjoy a story about the broken ones, this one felt incomplete. After reading through so much of what Fiona had to deal with and continued to deal with, I didn't feel like there was any real resolution. I'm glad she got her happy ending with Hunter, but for everything she went through, I thought there would be more to it. Without giving too much away, she was pretty self-destructive and I'm supposed to believe that everything was a-ok without therapy? Some serious, intense therapy?

Whatever. As always, Jessica Gadziala gave me one heck of a sexy story with plenty of heart. I'm still very much in love with the Mallick brothers and their parents and their luck in finding the 'right one'. I'm off to find out what happened to Fiona's brother, Isaiah, in Dissent.
