About the Book
Owen’s an ex-Army bodyguard for a beautiful gaming heiress… and a man with a secret. Ex-Army Texas boy Owen Harding fears only one thing—his inner beast. A year in Agent Smith’s experimental cages has changed his wolf into something monstrous. But a hate group is hunting the Wilding pack, so Owen’s serving again, this time as bodyguard. If only the girl he’s protecting wasn’t so damn sexy… and completely off limits.

Nova Wilding’s father was assassinated, leaving her a gaming company to run, a new game to release, and a pack full of wolves who want her for a mate… including a beta who’s determined to have Nova and her company. When a bomb goes off in her car, Nova finds herself in her sexy bodyguard’s arms… but he’s absolutely the wrong man at the wrong time.

While Nova fights to keep her gaming company afloat, and Owen fights to keep her alive, the hate group circles closer and closer… until they both find that falling in love might be the most dangerous game of all.

WILD GAME is a complete novel with HEA, the first in the Wilding Pack Wolves series. All stories are standalone, but for maximum reader enjoyment, start with the Riverwise Private Security trilogy.

My Review

★★★★✩

Nova's father, the leader of their pack, was murdered by a group of shifter haters. An anonymous man posts videos on the web, inciting fear and hatred of all shifters. He breeds animosity and encourages people to not only hunt them down, but to kill them. He found the names and locations of members of Nova and Owen's packs and leaked it to further his cause. Nova is in just as much danger as her father was and Owen is the man determined to protect her. Sparks fly and chemistry abounds, and while these two easily fall in love, Nova is supposed to find a mate within her own pack and Owen believes he isn't destined to have a mate. Forced experimentation made him into an unknown entity. He doesn't trust his animal and has no idea what he'd become if he were to shift. How can he put that on someone else? And what will he do when he's left with no choice?

Although it was immediately obvious that many of these characters shared a history I wasn't clued in on because I haven't read their stories yet, I wasn't lost when reading this. Kudos to the author for making this first book of a new series stand on its own. The undercurrent of suspenseful tension will probably run its course through the other books of the series, but at least Owen and Nova's story felt like their own. I'll definitely be reading on!
