Review: THE WEDDING FROM HELL PART 1: THE REHEARSAL DINNER by J. R. Ward

October 17, 2018

The Wedding From Hell by JR Ward
Dear Reader,

It's a classic recipe for disaster: Take one bridesmaid who thinks pink is the root of all evil. Mix with a best man who's hotter than a four-alarm fire. Add in their explosive sexual attraction, a nightmare bridezilla, two catfights, and an emergency call, and you have the wedding from hell! Come get to know Anne and Danny, the hero and heroine of Consumed, and see their relationship go from friends with innuendo to holy-&*#-did-that-just-happen?! Is this the start of something good for them? Or just an erotic one-night stand that rocks them both but is never to be repeated? Only their hearts know the answer to that, much as their minds might disagree.

Happy Reading,
J.R. Ward

MY REVIEW

★★★★☆

Serving as an introduction/warm-up to Ward's latest novel, Consumed, this novella introduces us to the heart of the story - its characters. There's Anne, who wants to be a guy's gal and so is treated like one. She's the newest firefighter in the company and instead of being part of the bridal party, she's a groomsman. There's Danny, her potential love interest, a true hero and one of the best firemen in the company. Then there's a couple of side characters that we don't really learn anything about, plus the bride from hell and her soon-to-be groom. The pull between Anne and Danny is strong and only by force of will can she deny what she truly desires. How long will she hold out?

I actually laughed quite a bit during this little novella and I'm glad I'm one step closer to getting to the big finish!
