TAMING MY WHISKEY by Melissa Foster
Buckle up for a wild ride as Dixie Whiskey finds forever love in TAMING MY WHISKEY, a funny, sexy, and emotionally riveting standalone romance by New York Times bestselling author Melissa Foster.

For some, love doesn't come easy
I've been looking forward to really meeting Dixie Whiskey ever since I read and fell in love with the first book of the series, Tru Blue. I knew to expect plenty of sweet moments, a rugged and strong alpha, and for Dixie to be a little minx. I wasn't disappointed. Dixie was a woman who knew her worth and wasn't willing to settle for less. She wanted what everyone around her had found - true love. And only one man fit all of her requirements. Only one man has haunted her mind and her heart for years. Could she tempt Jace Stone into putting down roots and finally laying his claim on her?

Dixie Whiskey had cast a spell on him and he had no idea how, or if, he'd ever recover.

I happened to really love this story. Who could complain when the author gave us such compelling characters. Jace was gunshy, reluctant to settle down, and he didn't make promises he couldn't keep. But he had hungered for Dixie for years. And when they finally gave things a shot, he soon realized that everything he had worked for, the man he had become, was nothing without her. His transformation was beautiful. Dixie gave as good as she got and she challenged him. I loved their back and forth, their connection. Taming My Whiskey gave me all that I could ask for.

I only had one real hangup and it was enough to dock some of my rating. If not for this, it would have been five stars. I'm not a fan of physical violence between the lovers of the story. I understand the reasons for why Dixie was upset, although she was at fault as well. She refused to admit her own responsibility. However, when face-to-face with Jace, she punches him in the face. That is unacceptable and I can't condone it. Her behavior was ugly and made her ugly to me. If he were the one to be upset and had hauled off and punched her in the face, would we be giving him all the praise? No, we wouldn't. We'd vilify him. We'd come down so hard on what he'd done. It shouldn't be less true just because she's a woman. I like to see myself as the furthest thing from a hypocrite so I'll tell you this... bash me if you want, but if a woman has the audacity to slug a man, she better be willing to take a slug back. I don't care. I'm not saying a man should hit a woman for any reason, however, he should be allowed to defend himself. What Dixie did was wrong and I won't sit here and pretend otherwise.

Synopsis
Taming My Whiskey by Melissa Foster
Being the princess of the Dark Knights motorcycle club doesn’t come with a white knight or a fairy-tale castle, and that’s okay, because Dixie Whiskey has never needed a man to slay her dragons or make her whole. Even so, after watching each of her brothers fall in love, she’d sure like a shot at her own happily ever after. But with the Dark Knights watching over her and the only man she’s ever wanted out of reach, she’s not holding her breath.

As the launch of Silver-Stone Cycles’ biggest line approaches, Jace Stone is left needing a favor from the one woman who holds the power to take him to his knees. He knows when it comes to sinfully gorgeous and sharp-tongued Dixie Whiskey, he must stay on his toes and keep his walls firmly in place. But Jace needs her for his business—and Jace Stone always gets what he wants.

When the tall, gruff, and darkly handsome biker presents an opportunity that any other woman might see as the chance of a lifetime, Dixie turns him down flat. But Jace is determined, and he pulls out all the stops—sending Dixie’s overprotective brothers up in arms. Rebellious Dixie takes a stand—going after the freedom, and the man, she’s always wanted. One scorching kiss leads to an undeniable connection, but Jace isn't looking to be tied down, and Dixie refuses to play second fiddle. Can two untamable hearts find forever love in each other’s arms?
