The Rest of My May 2019 Book Haul

May 27, 2019

Okay, so obviously May was an amazing month for my bookshelves. I got SO MANY books!! Many of them I've read already and some are on my TBR. Have you read any of these? And what was your book haul like this month?

I don't know if I've expressed this enough, but... The Order of the Senary is one of my most favorite PNR series of all time. Between the intense characters and the intricate plots, each story tackles love and loss and devastation of the world as we know it. Have you met these awesome hybrids yet?

L.A. Fiore is one of my favorite authors. If I'm ever in a book funk, her stories are some of my go-tos to get back into the swing of things. I fell in love with her books a few years ago and they keep getting better. Strong, protective heroes and fierce, loving heroines. Sweet and sexy romance at its finest.

I may not have read this particular series, but this author has written some bangers that I've loved! So getting these signed beauties made my bookshelves happy. I practically shrieked when I got these in the mail!! From contemporary romance to edgy PNR to dark reads, this author knows her ish and writes from the heart each and every time. I'm a gigantic fan girl and I have absolutely no regrets.

Add these books from the Need series to your TBR:

It's freaking Bethany-Kris! I've had this book collection sitting on my Amazon wishlist for a looooong time. I finally gave in and ordered it. I've only read the first book of the Chicago War series and now I can read them all. I'm super excited!! If you love mafia romance, alpha heroes, sweet heroines, family, love and hot sex, you should have this author on your TBR already!!

One of the rare times that I entered a giveaway, I actually won! What did I get? Well, the gorgeous Tijuana @ Book Twins Reviews sent me a signed copy of Vicious by LJ Shen, some bookmarks, a Ruckus totebag and a cute sleep mask. Sweet!!

I've been dying to read this series for what feels like forever. I've seen it all over my IG feed, seen tons of amazing reviews, and I wanted to experience it for myself. After sitting on my wish list for an eternity, it's finally in my hands. I even added the graphic novel for the series to see if it would add to my enjoyment. I love graphic novels so I hope it's a winner.

This series was recommended repeatedly by YA book lovers. I figured if they were going to keep telling me about it, I should at least give it a try. So now I've got The Stars Never Rise and The Flames Never Die and I can't wait to start them. A town overrun by demons? A girl looking to protect her sister? The part of the blurb that really grabs me is, "Wanted by the Church and hunted by dark forces, Nina knows she can’t survive on her own. She needs Finn and his group of rogue friends just as much as they need her." Does that mean there's a romance?

These two series introduced me to the world of Waterhouse Press. Bolt by Angel Payne tells the story of Reece, who turns out to be a deliciously sexy superhero. Unchained by Helen Hardt tells the story of a vampire named Dante who was held captive for 10 years and is determined to take out those who tortured them. Both men are ultra alpha and fall in love full force. Romance and intrigue and suspense must-reads.

Although my review of Unchained wasn't the best, the series only gets better the deeper you get.

I've got Angels' Blood by Nalini Singh (although I haven't started it yet), but I intend to start it soon and knew I was going to need the following book on hand. I've heard so many awesome things about this series (Guild Hunter), like the best of all time and ish, so I'm really looking forward to falling in love with this new-to-me author.

I've read a few of the books from Rebecca Zanetti's Dark Protectors series and LOVED them. I only wanted more. More of this author, more of her words, more of her characters... just more. I haven't read a book from her that I didn't like. If you haven't tried this series yet, you NEED to!

This book... it's one of my favorite reads of the year. It's about the President's son, who finally realizes he's bi-sexual, falling in love with the Prince of England. It's got politics and royalty and romance and banter and so much goodness that I never wanted the story to end. I fell so hard for Prince Henry. He was aristocratic and suave and elegant and beautiful and his heart was solid gold. Alex was a confused sweetheart with a huge chip on his shoulder. At least when the story begins. But he slowly but surely wormed his way into my heart and by the end I was a huge fan of his.

Do you like paranormal romance? Do vampires and werewolves turn you the heck on? Well, look no further than the Undeadly Secrets series by Aaron L. Speer. This man knows how to write! Each story had me tense, every character was either my bestie or my lifelong enemy, and every plot twist gave me whiplash. I'm a superfan of both the series and the author and Lee. Oh yeah, you definitely need to meet Lee Nightingale.
