ARC Review: COMMANDER IN BRIEFS by Kristy Marie

December 05, 2017

Commander in Briefs by Kristy Marie
Theo:
One, two, three…Six dicks!
Six dicks are living under the same roof with my girl. My girl!
How did we get to this point? How did one act of kindness, one act of lunacy, turn into this? I’ll tell you. Her bleeding heart. “I have to help him,” she said. “He needs someone.”
Months later, she has five freaking more!
Suddenly, she can’t come to my games or spend time with me.
Everything is about them.
Well, guess what? I don’t care what level of asshole I have to resort to, I’m going to show these vets just who Anniston McCallister belongs to. My name has been written on those seductive little panties of hers for seven years and no amount of muscle is going to ruin what we have going.
You may not like me.
You may think I’m an ass.
But understand that no matter what good deeds Anniston McCallister has done, she’s no angel. The girl craves rough and dirty debauchery.
And I’m just the man to give it to her.

Anniston:
I found Cade near death, in a ditch.
One look at those enchanting green eyes and I knew I had found my calling. Is it my fault that my newfound roommates threaten Theo to the point of insanity, causing him to parade around all angry and pissed off, marking his territory in every corner?
Theo started this “just friends” game when he banged some skank right after he took my virginity.
That kind of dirty play deserves payback, and I plan on making that phenomenal ass pay on his knees until he admits we were always more than, “just friends.”
But in the meantime, I have a foundation to start and men to command. Someone has to manage these hotties, and I’m just what the doctor ordered.
I am their Commander.

ARC Review: EVEREST by S.L. Scott

December 04, 2017

Everest

Six foot three. Dynamic green eyes. Utterly irresistible.

Ethan Everest stole my breath the first time I saw him. He romanced me with skill, dazzled me with his charisma, and proceeded to steal my heart right after.

I might have fallen for his easy-going smile the first time we met, but I fell for him the second time.

Honey-colored hair. Cherry-kissed lips. Captivatingly gorgeous.

Singer Davis was the first, and only, woman to ever intimidate me. She spoke to my heart with her wit, seduced me with her eyes, and became the only thing that made sense in a world that made none.

I let her slip through my fingers once. I won’t make that mistake twice.

Secrets broke us apart. Can a second chance bring us back together?

ARC Review: VILLAINS & VODKA by Alta Hensley

December 03, 2017

Villains and Vodka by Alta Hensley
My life is one long fevered dream, balancing between being killed or killing.
The name Harley Crow is one to be feared.
I am an assassin.
A killer.
The villain.

I own it. I choose this life. Hell, I crave it. I hunger for it. The smell of fear makes me hard and is the very reason the blood runs through my veins.
Until I meet her…

Marlowe Masters.
Her darkness matches my own.
In my twisted world of dancing along the jagged edge of the blade…
She changes everything.
No weapon can protect me from the kind of death she will ultimately deliver.

*Villains & Vodka is a dark billionaire romance. If you don’t like a splash of shock, a dash of taboo, and a heavy dose of sex, then don’t take a sip of this TOP SHELF cocktail.

MY REVIEW

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

If you’ve been following my journey of discovery into the Speer-verse, you’ll know how much I fell in love with it in book one, Night Walker. My love for this series has only grown with each additional book. However, before I continue to extol the virtues of this author, the awesome world he keeps dumping me into, and the incredible characters he created, I have to air my one grievance. Yup, you read that right. I only had one issue and if I don’t get it off my chest right now, I’m gonna explode.

Ok… here goes… mildly spoilery (it’s a word)...

I need the scenario between Alex, Dante and Michelle to end. NOW!! To say I wasn’t thrilled with where this part of the story was going would be an understatement. I finally got Dante and Alex to admit their feelings for one another. FINALLY!! And yeah, a freaking demon was wreaking havoc and matters became life or death for all of Australia, but did Michelle have to literally infuse herself into the situation? Why??? Why couldn’t she be the better person, as much as Dante and Alex always were, and just be happy for them? Why did Alex have to confuse the issue? Okay, I get it wasn’t really her but the demon, but c’mon!! Couldn’t Michelle figure out that what happened wasn’t normal? She herself said something was wrong with Alex! And Dante… how dare he imagine a future with both women when just a few scenes ago, he admitted that his feelings for Alex were the first of that depth he’s felt in a long time. Meaning… he didn’t feel that way for Michelle! So why is this happening??? Please… Aaron… for the love of all things otherworldly… please don’t do this to me in book four. Please!! All this did was disconnect me from them and leave a bad taste in my mouth.

In other news…

Mrs. Pam Nelson, in her review of this book (found HERE), mentions her new favorite vamp of the series - Lee Nightingale. And I can see why. Not only was he gorgeous, arrogant, and apparently the strongest vampire around, he was also someone not afraid to be who he is with absolutely no apologies. In my opinion, he had every right to be arrogant and I couldn’t help falling for him too. I can’t wait to see more of this man!

I loved every scene with Talia and Alicia. It was immediately evident that Alicia gave Talia the maternal comfort and affection that was missing from her own mother. It was obvious that her mother had an agenda that didn’t line up with hers. Was it only me who found that despite not being raised along with Nick, she was very much like him? I’m so excited to see how that reunion will go.

I didn’t have much love for Nicole in the previous book, but I came to like her in this one. I liked her fierce devotion to Nick and how protective she was towards the life they created together. As this new life creates its own substory, I’m increasingly interested in finding out how this will all play out.

The demon though??? This demon had me rolling!!! I laughed so freaking hard. The things that it said. The way it acted. Dayum!! I loved how the author illustrated the pull on Alex and the ferocity of her fight against evil. These scenes were intense, painful and highlighted all that was amazing about Alex and this author’s imagination.

Honestly, there was so much going on that I couldn’t help being captivated by this story. There was tons of action, tons of gore, tons of love, and tons of drama.

So yeah, that’s about all I have to say. This series is incredible. This story is phenomenal. If you’re a fan of paranormal romance, you NEED to get on this. If you haven’t started this series, I’m telling you right now… YOU’RE MISSING OUT!!

ARC Review: THE SEAL'S SECRET BABY by Lilly Holden

The Seal's Secret Baby by Lilly Holden
Some secrets ensure a person’s freedom.
Sophie’s secret ties her to me forever.

One day two years ago I buried a ghost, a man who had haunted me throughout my life.

That night two years ago I seized my one chance and shared my bed with the girl I’d secretly adored from the time we were kids. The woman I’d never dared hope would be mine.

She was too good, too pure.

I was hard, rough. A Navy SEAL. A killer.

All we had was a few stolen hours before life and family destroyed the fantasy.

Now I’ve returned to Spring Valley to sell my family home, the last step in breaking free of my past…until I find I’m nowhere near done.

Not with Sophie. Not with my past. And not with the secret she was desperate to hide from me.

But I’m not the only one who has unfinished business with Sophie.

I’ll need every one of my killer instincts to protect what is mine.

**The SEALs Secret Baby is a quick and naughty page turner involving an obsessed alpha hero, a sassy heroine, and enough insta-love and sizzling romantic suspense to melt your kindle. HEA and no cheating in this emotional tale.

ARC Review: DRIVE by Jacob Chance

November 28, 2017

Drive by Jacob Chance
Kissing a complete stranger shouldn’t be a life altering experience, but with him it was. One look into his mischievous hazel eyes and our lips were colliding without a second thought.

Now, months later, not only do I know his name, we’ve also become friends. Good friends. The kind of friends that kiss and cuddle together, all night long. The kind of friends that fantasize about being horizontal or vertical...and very much naked.

I’d never been attracted to the football playing jocks, but Nick’s different. When he’s not being a professional flirt, he’s undeniably sweet and funny. For every excuse my mind comes up with to keep my distance, my body finds two reasons to give him a chance.

Can he make the final drive into my heart or will I keep him in the friend zone?
