LAYLA

For the last two years Lachlan has been my personal bodyguard. Although I don’t feel in danger and don’t need someone constantly watching me, because it’s Lachlan, I can’t help but feel safe.

I love him.

He is big and strong, with training that makes him deadly. Anyone who is stupid enough to cross him learns that swiftly.
But I’m too afraid to tell him how much I want him. I’m too afraid to tell him that I crave him.

Two hearts tied together by hope and tragedy.
An unexpected smile. A touch on scarred flesh. A kiss on waiting lips.
An undeniable love that overcomes all doubt...

My childhood and innocence were stolen when I was kidnapped at five years old and held captive for eleven years. Now, at eighteen years old, I don’t know what love, happiness, or hope feels like anymore. I’m numb and lost, clinging to a childhood fairytale of a happily ever after with the prince I hoped would someday save me.

I had no idea my prince would come in the form of a scarred recluse, covered in tattoo’s, who won’t—or can’t—speak a word.

The moment our eyes met I knew he was the one. My prince.
The one I knew would save me.

“I know why you are here” he said, his voice steady, in control as always.
Isabella looked back at him, her head tilted to the side, daring him to go on “You want to know what’s going to happen next”
“And what is going to happen next, Christopher?” she looked straight at him, right into his deep green eyes.
They were so close.
Again, she thought, I am letting him get close again.

Determined to put everything behind her, Isabella tries to regain control and some of her 'long gone' good sense.
How could she have fallen for it? The relationship was doomed from the beginning, a regular girl like her dating a famous, race driver- not to mention ladies' man- like Christopher.
While a part of her misses him, Isabella knows she must stay away.
But can Christopher stay away from her?

Review: His Promise by Eddie Cleveland

Colt and Isabella shared an instant connection that was put on hold for two years. Once they were reunited, their story became an emotional and steamy journey. With a boatload of drama mixed in, HIS PROMISE made for quite the entertaining read. I love getting a sweet surprise read just for supporting an author. Although this story was a bit cheesy and predictable, I happened to really enjoy it.
