September 2021 Bookish Recap

October 05, 2021

Hello again! Can you believe we've already made it through September? Seriously, how is time moving so quickly right now?!

Again, I spent this month reading quality over quantity. Actually, I've read a ton of ARCs, which is so freaking cool because it's been a while since I've gotten any of those.

So here's what my September was all about book-wise:

Best Books

I got to read some amazing books, several of which were worthy of all the stars, however, the ones I loved most...

And yet, all of the books I read were great (some absolutely awesome) and they were...

Pure Requiem by Aja James
Jerk It by Lani Lynn Vale
Pure Destiny by Aja James
Inmate of the Month by Lani Lynn Vale
Dirty Gambit by Airicka Phoenix
Saving Silver by Xavier Neal
Coldhearted Bastard by Jenika Snow
Immortal's Honor by Rebecca Zanetti
The Killer's Vow by Aria R. Blue
The Boss by Melanie Moreland

Book Haul

No physical copies this month, but I did indulge in some of the ebook deals I shared on my blog. All books were $2 or less!

I also got the Fall in Love book bundle that had a limited time release.

Added to my tbr

Now here is where things start getting interesting. One of my goals this year was to read more of the books on my reading list and to resist adding too many more. I'm failing people!! At least, I failed this month. Who knows when I'll ever get to read these, but authors need to slow the heck down so I can read all of the books!!

Reading Stats

I read a total of 3756 pages across 13 books AND all of the books ended up being ones I'd recommend. I actually requested or was approached for ARCs, which made for a welcome change this month. So here's how I did:

What Else?

Absolutely nothing. I'm still trying to find the energy to post consistently. I'd like to get back to doing the Top Ten Tuesday posts (I really miss that community). And I'd love to try another reading challenge. Or I might just keep doing whatever it is I am (or am not) doing right now. Maybe I'll surprise you.

What are you looking forward to for October? I hope it's as incredible as we deserve it to be!

Talk soon,

xo, Natalie

August 2021 Bookish Recap

September 01, 2021

How is it that summer is already over? My children are days away from school and August was all about reading what I love and back-to-school shopping. With my eldest going into her second year of university, my middle going into her 11th year of high school, and my youngest starting junior high, my hands are full! I am definitely looking forward to whatever September brings and I wish for all of you to be blessed and find some awesome reads :)

So let's get down to what all I did in August...

Best Books of August

August was a great reading month for me. So great that it's hard for me to nail down the best book because after starting the Pure/Dark Ones series by Aja James... all of those books deserve the glory! So I'll just share with you all of the amazing reads I got to enjoy this month...

Gen Pop by Lani Lynn Vale - 4 stars
Pure Healing by Aja James - 5 stars
Dark Longing by Aja James - 5 stars
Dark Desires by Aja James - 5 stars
Dark Pleasures by Aja James - 5 stars
Pure Rapture by Aja James - 5 stars
Dark Redemption by Aja James - 5 stars
Pure Awakening by Aja James - 4 stars
Pure Ecstasy by Aja James - 5 stars
Dark Obsession by Aja James - 5 stars
Pure Providence by Aja James - 5 stars
Pure Magnetism by Aja James - 5 stars
Pure Surrender by Aja James - 5 stars
Pure Darkness by Aja James - 5 stars
Bond of Destiny by Larissa Ione - 4 stars
Dark Possession by Aja James - 5 stars

Aja James is a hidden gem. I'm not sure why because her gift with words is outstanding! She has definitely made a place for herself on my must-buy list.

Ebooks

Added to my tbr

I did pretty awesome with not adding too much to my list. One day, it will be zero so I can actually get through my dang TBR.

Reading Stats

I read a total of 4246 pages across 16 books. Most of these came from this fabulous series I found (Pure/Dark Ones by Aja James), although I did find some amazing ARCs as well. Not a whole lot of variety here :)

What Else?

Once again, I've got nothing. I'm looking forward to continuing the Pure/Dark Ones series. I love paranormal romance, especially when it's done to this caliber of excellence. I don't want it to end, but I can't stop now. If you happen to know any great paranormal or fantasy romance books that you think I'd enjoy, especially if they're hot without the mess of menage, please let me know!

What are you looking forward to for September? I hope it's as incredible as we deserve it to be!
