Down the TBR Hole was originally created by Lost in a Story! The point of it is to help cull your reading lists down, or maybe push higher anticipated releases up on your TBR! And maybe you all can help me along the way, and tell me if you’ve loved or hated any of these!

How it works:
➽ Go to your Goodreads to-read shelf.
➽ Order on ascending date added.
➽ Take the first 5 (or 10 if you’re feeling adventurous) books - I do about 15-20 because my list is HUGE
➽ Read the synopses of the books
➽ Decide: keep it or should it go?

A Girl Named Calamity (Alyria #1) by Danielle Lori
Avg rating: 4.18/Release: July 13, 2016
ONLY 99 cents!

I actually received a copy of this book from the author. I just haven't gotten around to it yet. However, I've read something else from her and enjoyed her writing so I'm pretty sure I'll enjoy this one too.
Verdict: keep

Burning Up Flint (Cyborg Seduction #1) by Laurann Dohner
Avg rating: 3.78/Release: March 5, 2010

It was re-released with a sexy AF cover and I quickly added. Not only have I been dying to read something from this author, but I didn't want to pick up a book of hers and not get it. You know? So why not start from the beginning of a series.

I Know What Love Is (I Know... #1) by Whitney Bianca
Avg rating: 3.82/Release: August 19, 2014

I've never read this author before but she got me at 'This is not a love story.' It's a dark romance, which obviously I love, and it looks like something I'm going to love. I hope... 🤞
Verdict: keep

From Sand and Ash by Amy Harmon
Avg rating: 4.40/Release: December 1, 2016

When I read The Bird and The Sword, I vowed to read everything from this author. She made me fall in love with a young adult story full of pain and growth and whimsy. I loved it and so my mission continues...

Honey Bee by Heather Shere
Avg rating: 4.24/Release: January 23, 2017

This story sounds super duper sweet. Like hurt my tooth, call a dentist sweet. But sometimes I need some sweet in my life.

Worth It by S.M. Shade & C.M. Owens
Avg rating: 4.53/Release: January 2, 2017

This one has been recommended a bunch of times, but lately my good friend Alicia read it and told me that I'll keel over laughing. I'm always up for a great laugh! I've never read from these authors before but I'm more than willing to try.
Verdict: keep

Ripple Effect: Episode 1 (Ripple Effect #1) by Keri Lake
Avg rating: 4.14/Release: February 24, 2017

No lie, I've been DYING to read this book since it came out. DYING! And although it's free in kindle unlimited, I just haven't had the chance. But it's most definitely a priority.
Verdict: keep

White Rabbit (White Rabbit #1) by J.D. Sloane
Avg rating: 3.76/Release: December 19, 2014

I don't even know how I even found this book. However, after re-reading the blurb, I'm interested. ** explores themes of dark sexuality, violence and dubious consent ** Yeah, sounds good to me 😋
Verdict: keep

Egomaniac by Vi Keeland
Avg rating: 4.26/Release: January 16, 2017

Honestly, when reading from this author, the stories are pretty hit-or-miss with me. But this one turned out to be such a hit with so many that I have to give it a shot.
Verdict: keep

Prisoner of My Desire by Johanna Lindsey
Avg rating: 4.06/Release: December 1, 1991

It's been ages since I've read a book from this author. I've read so many of her stories, own so many of them, and somehow this one I missed. I wonder if I'll feel the same love as I did before.
Verdict: keep

Cinder (The Lunar Chronicles #1) by Marissa Meyer
Avg rating: 4.15/Release: January 8, 2013

I've actually got this series in hard/softcovers and I'm eager to get started. I absolutely love retellings and I've heard these are some of the best of the lot.
Verdict: keep

Finders Keepers (Alfha Law Firm #2.5) by C.A. Rose, Aurora Rose Reynolds
Avg rating: 3.93/Release: January 19, 2017
ONLY 99 cents!

I think I added this one as a placeholder for the series. It promises to be short, sweet and dirty. Let's hope it lives up to its word.
Verdict: keep

Mists of the Serengeti by Leylah Attar
Avg rating: 4.48/Release: January 31, 2017

I loved The Paper Swan and it made me an instant fan of this author. After checking out the many rave reviews for this book, I'm gonna be a follower this one time.

One to Hold (One to Hold #1) by Tia Louise
Avg rating: 3.74/Release: October 7, 2013

I really like this author. Whether she's writing sweet contemporaries or romantic suspense stories, I enjoy the read. This one has been sitting on my kindle for a while now and I really should get to it some day soon.
Verdict: keep

Dear Agony by Georgia Cates
Avg rating: 4.16/Release: March 1, 2017

It's been a mighty long minute since I've read anything from this author. I loved Beauty From Pain and the rest of that series. I don't remember the details but I remember enjoying it. So I wonder if the same will remain true for this?
Verdict: keep

Naughty at 30 (Love Without Batteries #2) by Cassandra Lawson
Avg rating: 3.98/Release: January 19, 2017

The concept of this story intrigued me at the time that I added it to my TBR. And while it still sounds interesting, it isn't interesting enough to stay on it.
Verdict: delete

Hot Mess (Love is Messy Duet #1) by Emily Goodwin
Avg rating: 4.22/Release: February 1, 2017

I've never read from this author before but I'm told that this story is super sweet and I won't hate anyone. Although it ends on a cliffy, I'm okay with that. At least the books are available in the KU program. The fact that it's about a single mother like myself is icing!
Verdict: keep

53 Letters for my Lover (53 Letters for my Lover #1) by Leylah Attar
Avg rating: 4.29/Release: June 17, 2014

See above
Verdict: keep

Where Promises Die by R.C. Stephens
Avg rating: 3.94/Release: February 20, 2017

I usually love a good second chance romance but I'm not sure this one is for me. I HATE love triangles. Hate them. And this one is between twin brothers. The angst dude.
Verdict: delete

Menace (Scarlet Scars #1) by J.M. Darhower
Avg rating: 4.26/Release: January 16, 2017

It's dark, he's scarred, they're bored, he sounds awesome.
Verdict: keep

As I was going down this list, I didn't think I'd end up getting rid of any of these. Can you imagine doing a challenge like this and failing at it? I've deleted so very little from my TBR, but at least I have done it. Anyhoo...

Have any of these books popped up on your list? Thoughts? Until next week... Happy Reading! xoxo
