The 10 Books That Should Be Adapted Into Netflix Shows/Movies

August 18, 2020

Welcome to another TTT, hosted by Jana @ That Artsy Reader Girl! This weeks topic was submitted by Nushu @ Not A Prima Donna Girl and I had a hard time coming up with only 10. I'm a binge-watcher and a lot of what I've viewed on Netflix are shows and movies based on books, so this was a fun topic to do.

1. The Black Dagger Brotherhood by J.R. Ward - a vampire king, hybrids, angels, demons, tons of action... OMG, I would LOVE this!

2. The Pyte/Sentinel series by R.L. Mathewson - vampires, shifters, action and humor. I LOVED this series and would love to see how it would all play out in live action.

3. The 'Burg series by Kristen Ashley - most of these stories are suspenseful and all of them are amazing. I think I want this primarily to see who would be cast as Joe.

4. The Ryze series by N. Isabelle Blanco - gods and hybrids and demons and humans and action and death and joy and surprises. It's mythical and magical and marvelous!

5. The entire King series by T.M. Frazier - I want the whole gang and their stories of about loss and love to play out for me. All the guts and glory, all the obstacles and triumps... I want King and Bear and Nine and Smoke and PREPPY!!!!

6. The Dark Duet by C.J. Roberts - this is a dark read unlike any other and it made me fall in love with the flip side of romance. It's raw and gritty and gave such a beautiful glimpse of the anti-hero I grew to love. I was happy to roll around in my Stockholm Syndrome for Caleb.

7. The Forgotten Brotherhood series by N.J. Walters - I've only read the two books that are out right now, but a third is coming in September and these books are AWESOME! Their about an elite team of assassins who are all different species (shifters, angels, vampires, etc.). Honestly, to see these on the screen would be a dream!

8. The Voyeur series by N. Isabelle Blanco & Elena M. Reyes - it's a twisted romantic psychological thriller about being held captive and at the mercy of a secret cabal. It's intense and scary and sexy and I recommend it to anyone who enjoys the darkness.

9. The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer - I'm guessing Cinder's cybernetics would be captured using CGI but I don't even care! I fell in love with this story and its characters and the magic between these pages and I would LOVE to see it come to life. Can you imagine???

10. The Dark Protectors series by Rebecca Zanetti - this is one of my favorite series EVER and it deserves to see the light. It's about vampires and hybrids and those with immortal genetics and a long conspiracy and so much more. Love it!

Looking back through this list, I'm realizing most of these books aren't based on realistic things. They're either paranormal or fantasy. Then again, those are the shows I tend to watch (oh and scifi) so I guess that explains it. Seriously, it was really hard to limit this list to ten. I could probably list about fifty.

What books would you want to see made for Neflix? If you've got a TTT, leave a link to it below so I can check out your post too!
Happy Reading xo

  2. I think King would be a great series, too! I didn't think of that one for my list. I guess maybe I thought it would be too dark?

  8. The Lunar Chronicles really would make a great series - IF it's done well. That's the problem with so many adaptations for me, they're just ... not good.

    Happy TTT!

    1. I couldn't agree more. It would be great depending on who's producing it.

  10. I haven't read any of the books but I think they'd be very successful movies.

Thanks for visiting my TTT earlier.

  11. The Black Dagger Brotherhood series is one I have wanted to start, but it is already so long, I wasn't sure how I could start it. So a series would be perfect!

    1. For sure. I still haven't gotten to where these books have left off and there's still a whole other spin-off series. It's a lot and I think it would play well on screen.
