Down the TBR Hole was originally created by Lost in a Story! The point of it is to help cull your reading lists down, or maybe push higher anticipated releases up on your TBR! And maybe you all can help me along the way, and tell me if you’ve loved or hated any of these!

How it works:
➽ Go to your Goodreads to-read shelf.
➽ Order on ascending date added.
➽ Take the first 5 (or 10 if you’re feeling adventurous) books - I do about 15-20 because my list is HUGE
➽ Read the synopses of the books
➽ Decide: keep it or should it go?

Captive (Beautiful Monsters #1) by Jex Lane
Avg rating: 4.33/Release: August 8, 2016

After seeing a bunch of five star reviews, of course I added this. However, even though I'm still intrigued, I've been warned about something that happens in this story and I'm going to stay away. Maybe I'll be interested enough to bypass my concerns in the future.

No Limits (Every #4) by Ellie Marney
Avg rating: 4.33/Release: August 1, 2017

To be honest, I have absolutely no idea how this even ended up on my TBR. I don't know anyone who's read it and it wasn't recommended to me. On top of that, I've never heard of the author. How did it get here? I'm not pulled in by the blurb, so I'll pass.

Fraternize (Players Game #1) by Rachel Van Dyken
Avg rating: 4.16/Release: September 12, 2017

I normally stay away from love triangles if I can help it. This one sounds like a second chance romance and new love possibility and a hot mess of emotions. I don't know what to do, but it's RVD so I'm willing to get my heart broken 😔
Verdict: keep

Kneel (Sins of Seven #1) by Dani René
Avg rating: 4.06/Release: September 22, 2017

I've read several books from this author, but none of her 'dark' stuff. So I'm interested in finding out if I'll like this. That cover warrants a second look, don't you think?
Verdict: keep

Born, Darkly (Darkly, Madly Duet #1) by Trisha Wolfe
Avg rating: 4.23/Release: September 19, 2017

I've read some mixed reviews for this, but I still want to give it a try, especially because it's already sitting on my kindle.
Verdict: keep

Unspeakable (Beyond Human #2) by Nina Croft
Avg rating: 4.33/Release: September 25, 2017

This book sure does sound interesting. I love stories about people fighting for a cause, only to realize how wrong they are. I'm on board.
Verdict: keep

With This Man (This Man #4) by Jodi Ellen Malpas
Avg rating: 4.47/Release: March 20, 2018

I know that there's a lot of us who fell in love with this series. I thought the story was done. To know that there's another book full of the wonderful Jesse makes me so happy. I can't wait!

SEXT by Penny Wylder
Avg rating: 3.59/Release: August 22, 2017

I've never read from this author before, but I've wanted to. And this book looks like something that will serve as a good introduction. Spare panties required? I'm there!
Verdict: keep

Spider by Ilsa Madden-Mills
Avg rating: 4.05/Release: November 13, 2017

I was set to read this. I've enjoyed books from this author before. But Jen, a GR friend, told me that the hero sleeps with OW after seeing the love of his life and establishing a connection. That's a no-go for me.
Verdict: delete

Dark Control (Dark Dominance #1) by Annabel Joseph
Avg rating: 3.97/Release: September 25, 2017

Nope. It's a BDSM romance that I'm actually not interested in. Not sure how it ended up on my list, but no. Maybe if it was free in KU.
Verdict: delete

Canvas by Jacob Chance
Avg rating: 4.38/Release: September 20, 2017

That is one sexy as heck cover! It's a friends-to-lovers trope, which I love, but it sounds like the heroine breaks the girl code (not cool). I hope I don't end up hating her.

Logan (Preston Brothers #2) by Jay McLean
Avg rating: 4.49/Release: October 1, 2017

Here's the thing... I absolutely adored the More Than series. To date, it's still one of my favorite young adult series. Kids will be kids, but these kids had heart! I haven't read the first book, Lucas, yet so that will be done first.
Verdict: keep

The Wrath and the Dawn (The Wrath and the Dawn #1) by Reneé Ahdieh
Avg rating: 4.16/Release: May 12, 2015

I've been dying to read this story since it was released. No joke. It sounds like a retelling of Scheherazade (1001 Nights), which is a story I fell in love with as a child. So here's a story that I could come to love about a story that I do love. See why I love retellings? It doesn't hurt that this book is already sitting on one of my bookshelves.
Verdict: keep

The Man I Love (The Fish Tales #1) by Suanne Laqueur
Avg rating: 4.38/Release: June 16, 2014

I think I just might be the last person to read anything from this author. I remember everyone and their mama exclaiming over the wonderful virtues of 'An Exhaltation of Larks' and thinking that I need to read it. But this one seems more my speed. For an introduction anyway.
Verdict: keep

Sick Fux by Tillie Cole
Avg rating: 4.07/Release: October 7, 2017

I believe that every author who attempts to write dark romance (and succeeds) has their own unique voice. No one, and I mean no one, writes quite like Tillie Cole. She touches on boundaries and takes you out of your comfort zone like no other. It's not to say other authors don't do this, but they each have their own way of doing it. Like I said... unique. I never know what's going to happen and I can only cross my fingers in hope for a happy ending.
Verdict: keep

Twin Savage (Porn Star Boyfriends #2) by Sunniva Dee
Avg rating: 4.00/Release: October 16, 2017

This book was gifted to me by someone. I don't know who sent it to me. Was it you? If so, I'm sorry but I won't be reading it. It ticks way too many of my no-go points. No to the porn star by an unknown to me author. No to the reverse harem trope thingy. Just no. It could be the best book since sliced bread, but I won't ever know.
Verdict: delete

Cinder (The Lunar Chronicles #1) by Marissa Meyer
Avg rating: 4.15/Release: January 3, 2012

I said I like retellings, right? Well this one has been on my radar for years but never added it. Then I kept seeing it come up as a recommendation and added it. Now I've got the entire series sitting on my bookshelves. All I need to do is find the time to start it.
Verdict: keep

Tap Left by A. Zavarelli
Avg rating: 4.01/Release: November 1, 2017

I really like this author's books, but this story no longer appeals to me. It sounds like something I've read before by more than one author. So I'll pass.
Verdict: delete

Blood & Lies (A Twisted Duet #1) by Bella J.
Avg rating: 4.11/Release: February 21, 2017

This book is out of print and being re-released on April 2, 2019 for those who are interested. Organized crime boss and vengeance. A match made in heaven. I haven't had the best of luck with this author, but I'm willing to give her another try.
Verdict: keep

Long Shot (Hoops #1) by Kennedy Ryan
Avg rating: 4.31/Release: March 22, 2018

I read the second book of this series and loved it. Before reading the next book, I think it would be wise to read this one first. Lucky for me, my good friend Tijuana (from Book Twins Reviews) sent me a signed copy for my bday. Thanks T!! 😘💞
