Down The TBR Hole #3

Down the TBR Hole was originally created by Lost in a Story! The point of it is to help cull your reading lists down, or maybe push higher anticipated releases up on your TBR! And maybe you all can help me along the way, and tell me if you’ve loved or hated any of these!

How it works:
➽ Go to your Goodreads to-read shelf.
➽ Order on ascending date added.
➽ Take the first 5 (or 10 if you’re feeling adventurous) books
➽ Read the synopses of the books
➽ Decide: keep it or should it go?

Which books will make it on the list?

Nuts by Alice Clayton
Rating avg: 4.03
Added: September 24, 2015/Release: October 20, 2015

I haven't met an Alice Clayton book I didn't like. Actually, all of the books I've read from her got 5-star ratings from me. So I'm excited to see if this will still hold true.

Verdict: Keep

Truth or Beard (Winston Brothers #1) by Penny Reid
Rating avg: 4
Added: September 24, 2015/Release: July 21, 2015

It's Penny Reid. That means sweet, sexy, snarky romance with tons of laughs. I couldn't ask for more, now could I? I've started this series in the middle and really need to get back to the beginning.

Happily Ever Ninja (Knitting in the City #5) by Penny Reid
Rating avg: 4.19
Added: September 25, 2015/Release: January 19, 2016

I keep finding books on my tbr that I swear I've read already. Ever meet characters in other books and feel like you know them so well already that you think you've read their story? That must be why I feel like I already know these characters. I loved this series!

Verdict: Keep

Breaking Love (Broken Love #4) by B.B. Reid
Rating avg: 4.15
Added: October 21, 2015/Release: November 24, 2015

I remember waiting for this release so eagerly. Keiran is still one of my favorite alpha-holes and that alone is reason enough to want to read this. Getting to know the nitty-gritty of Dash will be a bonus!

Verdict: Keep

A Reason To Live (Reason #3) by C.P. Smith
Rating avg: 4.20
Added: October 23, 2015/Release: February 21, 2016

This one was an easy decision to make. I enjoyed the previous books in the series, so I'm hoping I'll enjoy this one as well. Strong sexual content, insta-love and soulmates. Sometimes these elements are necessary.

Verdict: Keep

Betrayal (Infidelity #1) by Aleatha Romig
Rating avg: 4.31
Added: October 23, 2015/Release: October 13, 2015

I didn't have the greatest experience with this author. I tried to start her Consequences series and found it boring within the first few chapters. However, I heard that I wouldn't have the same problem with this one. I guess we'll see.

Verdict: Keep

Breaking Him (Love is War #1) by R.K. Lilley
Rating avg: 4.23
Added: October 23, 2015/Release: October 3, 2015

Everything I've read from this author was deep and evocative. Her books pulled emotions out of me that I didn't even want to have, which is a good way to maintain my interest. I still want to delve into this series.

Verdict: Keep

Blown by Raine Miller
Rating avg: 3.91
Added: October 23, 2015/Release: ???

I can't find this book anywhere. I'm not sure if the title was changed or if the release was put off, but there's really no point holding onto a book that doesn't exist outside of Goodreads.

Verdict: Delete

Crux Untamed (Hades Hangmen #6) by Tillie Cole
Rating avg: 4.43
Added: October 26, 2015/Release: February 25, 2018

I've been in love with this series from the start. I'm a flame whore. Although this story deals with a relationship that I can't really get behind, I was still willing to read it. But then I was told that it doesn't really help the story along and that I could skip it if I want. I'm still unsure what I'll do with it.

Verdict: Keep

Escape by Jessica Ashe
Rating avg: 3.79
Added: October 30, 2015/Release: August 12, 2015

At one time in the recent past, I went through a step-brother romance phase. Don't even give me that look cuz I know I'm not alone. But I've outgrown this genre, at least when it comes to authors I'm unfamiliar with. And since none of my GR friends have even rated this book, I'm thinking it can get a pass.

Verdict: Delete

And so ends another torturous decision process! Are any of these books on your TBR? Have you read any of them and if so, what did you think of it? I'm still loving this experience because I'm remembering why I added some books and also shaking my head over why I added others. Until the next time... Happy Reading!! 💜💜💜
